entranced by simple things
simple, irrelevant things
speech has no connection
it does not touch the center
surroundings attain importance --
ridiculous, their significance --
by virtue of their chance connection
to that which they surround
words flit about
shunning that which is the center
but simple things must suffice
and words are the closest approach
