Accomplishments
Extensive Wireless Deployment Experience. Setting up FIPS 140-2 encrypted wireless LAN gear for Army units in
Grafenwoehr, Wiesbaden, and Wurzburg. Spent day 1 of the Iraq war atop the Lefant Plaza Hotel in Washington DC establishing
wireless video link to tower on the 14th street bridge (in pouring rain). Successfully demonstrated 15-mile line of sight
encrypted wireless video link in Hawaii from Barbers Point to Round Top on Oahu. Supported mobile rooftop wireless IP
video kits for Metropolitan Police Department, Washington DC (for use during World Bank & IMF Meetings). Ran a standard
battery of performance tests against a number of major wireless bridge vendors to compare manufacturers. Also successfully
ran IxChariot tests over Cellular IP Data Services (GPRS and CDMA based) and even experimental STANAG 5066 (IP over
wireless Token-Ring HF).
Developed the test plan to stress test POS (Packet over SONET) OC-48, OC-12,
and OC-3 interfaces between two Juniper M40 Internet Backbone Routers, conducted
the tests using a SmartBits 2000, and documented the results.
Developed test plans to do performance testing on Torrent IP9000 Gigabit
Router (now the Ericcson AIX 540), Redstone RX 1400 Edge Router, Cisco Catalyst 6500 Switch/Router, Avici
TSR (POS OC-48, OC-12, OC-3), and Cisco 12012 Gigabit Switch Routers (POS OC-48, OC-12, and OC-3
interfaces) using Smartbits 2000 (and new 6000), and RadCOM testers as traffic
generators/analyzers. Also conducting protocol compatibilty tests to verify BGP, ISIS, and OSPF
interoperability with Cisco 7513's.
Evaluated and Certified the Nortel Contivity 1000, 1500, 2500, and 4500 VPN Extranet Switches for
managed VPN service offering at Sprint Communications.
Evaluated the Cisco 7206 VXR Routers populated with POS OC-3, SRP/DPT OC-12, Multi-Channel DS-3
Coax (provisionable down to the DS0 level), 4 port Multi-Channel T1 (also provisionable down to the DS0
level), FastE port adapters, and HSSI interfaces using IOS 12.0(7)S, 12.0(8)S, and 12.0(8.5)S code
streams for Sprint Communications.
