Supported Joint Intereoperabilty Test Command (East and West), NATO Combined Endeavor Exercise in Baumholder Germany, DISA GBS and GIG-BE projects, Navy SPAWAR, Northrop Grumann, Viasat, L3, Mitre, Lockheed/Martin, General Dynamics, Booz | Allen | Hamilton, Interoperability Test Lab at the University of New Hampshire, M.I.T. Lincoln Labs (IPv6 system development), wireless testing, TCP acceleration testing over Satellite, VoIP, Quality of Service, and a wide variety of test efforts in research and development supporting Federal Network Testing.     Senior Systems Engineer for Superlative Technologies. Tested and evaluated 802.11b wireless ethernet solutions and developed an expertise in RF antennas and topologies through real world deployments. Primary engineer for integrating a wireless encryption solution to add 3DES and AES encryption capabilities to 802.11b networks for security. Lead engineer for managed VPN solutions to the local carrier market and encrypted wireless deployments to US Military installations in Europe and for Army logistics. (10/01 - 2/04)

Onsite support of the SmartBits 200, 600, 2000, and 6000 test equipment covering testbeds using T1 Frame Relay, ATM T1, ATM25, DS-3 ATM, OC-3 ATM, POS OC-3 / OC-12 / OC-48 / OC-192, and 10/100/1000 Mbps 802.3 Ethernet for a variety of telecommunications carriers and network device vendors in the DC area. Also supporting AdTech AX/4000 broadband test system (3/00 - 10/01)

    Information Systems Engineer for the Technica Corporation in Herndon, VA, working as an onsite consultant at Sprint Communications in Reston in a network research testing laboratory. Working in designing performance, protocol compatibility, and general functionality tests in the IP Data Engineering Lab. The tests are then conducted and documented in white papers on the various router products Sprint evaluates. (6/99 - 3/00)

    Corporate LAN Administrator, onsite consultant, and webmaster for FC Business Systems in Falls Church, VA for 160 employees. Responsible for developing Wide Area networking solutions using UNIX, NT, CISCO routers, and U.S. Robotics Total Control Netservers. Also detailed to FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) after 5/98 as a Systems Administrator assisting with help desk operations. (2/97 - 5/99)

    Accomplishments
    Extensive Wireless Deployment Experience. Setting up FIPS 140-2 encrypted wireless LAN gear for Army units in Grafenwoehr, Wiesbaden, and Wurzburg. Spent day 1 of the Iraq war atop the Lefant Plaza Hotel in Washington DC establishing wireless video link to tower on the 14th street bridge (in pouring rain). Successfully demonstrated 15-mile line of sight encrypted wireless video link in Hawaii from Barbers Point to Round Top on Oahu. Supported mobile rooftop wireless IP video kits for Metropolitan Police Department, Washington DC (for use during World Bank & IMF Meetings). Ran a standard battery of performance tests against a number of major wireless bridge vendors to compare manufacturers. Also successfully ran IxChariot tests over Cellular IP Data Services (GPRS and CDMA based) and even experimental STANAG 5066 (IP over wireless Token-Ring HF).

    Developed the test plan to stress test POS (Packet over SONET) OC-48, OC-12, and OC-3 interfaces between two Juniper M40 Internet Backbone Routers, conducted the tests using a SmartBits 2000, and documented the results.

    Developed test plans to do performance testing on Torrent IP9000 Gigabit Router (now the Ericcson AIX 540), Redstone RX 1400 Edge Router, Cisco Catalyst 6500 Switch/Router, Avici TSR (POS OC-48, OC-12, OC-3), and Cisco 12012 Gigabit Switch Routers (POS OC-48, OC-12, and OC-3 interfaces) using Smartbits 2000 (and new 6000), and RadCOM testers as traffic generators/analyzers. Also conducting protocol compatibilty tests to verify BGP, ISIS, and OSPF interoperability with Cisco 7513's.

    Evaluated and Certified the Nortel Contivity 1000, 1500, 2500, and 4500 VPN Extranet Switches for managed VPN service offering at Sprint Communications.

    Evaluated the Cisco 7206 VXR Routers populated with POS OC-3, SRP/DPT OC-12, Multi-Channel DS-3 Coax (provisionable down to the DS0 level), 4 port Multi-Channel T1 (also provisionable down to the DS0 level), FastE port adapters, and HSSI interfaces using IOS 12.0(7)S, 12.0(8)S, and 12.0(8.5)S code streams for Sprint Communications.

    Evaluated and Certfied the Cisco 1720, Cisco 2600 series, and the Cisco 3600 series routers using IOS 11.x and 12.x code streams for use as Customer Premise Equipment for Sprint Communications Corporation.

    Reconfigured entire corporate network at FC Business Systems to negotiate switching of Internet Service Providers, and IP address schema (different addresses). Changed IP on Novell Servers, NT Servers (including DHCP server ranges), SunSparc Workstations, Dial-In Server, and Cisco Routers.

    Personable, good with people, and able to communicate effectively orally or via assorted other media.

    Direct practical experience with a wide variety of WAN technologies. POS OC-3, POS OC-12, POS OC-48, POS OC-192, ATM (OC-12, OC-3, DS-3 Coax), Frame-Relay (DS-3 HSSI, DS-3 Coax, Multi-Channel DS-3 Coax, Serial T1 via V.35), SRP/DPT OC-12, ISDN BRI (with NT1, and DDR), ADSL, and SDSL. Basically SONET, ATM, Frame-Relay, Wireless, RF, and xDSL. 1Gbps, 10Gbps, 40Gbps, and 100Gbps Ethernet using CAT6, SFP+, QSFP, QSFP28.

    Extensive exposure to a wide variety of network equipment from numerous vendors. These include Optical IP Router/Switches, LAN Switches, ATM Switches, Frame-Relay switches, and CPE devices made by Cisco Systems, Avici Systems, Juniper Networks, Nortels Networks, Redback Networks, Unisphere (used to be RedStone), Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks, Fore Systems (now Marconi), Alcatel, and Ericsson. Working knowledge of command line interfaces, and syntax specifics for configuration and troubleshooting.

    Capable of creating working shell scripts for Unix, cron jobs, batch files for DOS, and fairly robust SQL queries for Oracle (using PL/SQL), and other SQL daemons (using PHP3).

    Very familiar was the Cisco IOS CLI (Command Line Interface), and using it to configure various Cisco routers and switches for use in testbeds, and production networks.

    Familiar with the Juniper M40 CLI (Command Line Interface), and versed in configuring and setting up this core router from scratch.

    Experienced with designing and implementing tests of routers and switches using the Ixia 400T, 1600T, X16, and XM12 (high port density IP/Ethernet 10/100/1000/10G test interfaces, POS OC-3/12/48/192) and Spirent Communications Smartbits 2000 and 6000 products (tests T1 frame, OC-3 ATM, OC-3 & OC12 POS, FastEthernet, and GigEthernet). Also familiar with RadCOM (ATM & POS), AdTech (Frame/ATM), and Agilent RouterTester 900i.

    Capable network specialist with wide understanding of the UNIX operating system. Set up TCP/IP network configurations for DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups, RedHat Linux, Debian Linux, Slackware Linux, Windows95, Windows NT, Windows2000, WindowsXP, and Windows Advanced Server 2003.
